The New Yorker edition of Italian Design Days has selected Zanotta House New York to host the debate on the subject “Re-generation, Design and New technologies for a sustainable future”.
Italian Design Day, annual thematic event launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration and with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities to promote Italian design all over the world, this year will take place at 23 Cornelia Street in Greenwich Village in Manhattan, in a townhouse declared by the municipality "landmark" of New York that from 2021 is Zanotta House New York, a place of meeting and relationship, where the product is lived directly by strengthening the link between the company and its network.
The event, promoted by Fabrizio Di Michele, Consul General of Italy in New York and Enrico Cavallari, CEO of Tecno and Zanotta in collaboration with ICE, is an opportunity to discuss the new challenges of urban and multi-scale regeneration that architects and designers must face to design a sustainable future, with particular reference to the importance of building more solid collaborations between designers, academies, the productive sector and institutions (municipalities, governments, local authorities, etc.) to promote a transfer of knowledge with a cross fertilization approach. The focus of the round table is the sharing of new forms of dialogue and systemic, integrated and multidisciplinary strategies to environmental issues.
Alessandro Melis - architect, curator of the Italian Pavilion at the XVII Venice Biennale, professor of architecture and inaugural chair of the New York Institute of Technology - in conversation with prestigious architectural firms: Archi-Tectonics, EFM Architecture + Design, Grimshaw Architects, Rockwell Group, Tihany Design.
Zanotta House NY is a project conceived to create a system: it is a place designed to connect experiences, to develop new models of joint business affirming the quality and recognizability of Italian design. It is a project implemented with partners which are premium brands in the design sector, an unprecedented format consistent with the philosophy of Zanotta that offers transversal furnishing solutions, for residential and soft contract projects, thanks to a proposal not standardized on global codes, which stimulates freedom of choice without imposing a coordinated style and lifestyle, bringing back to the centre life, emotions and relationships according to the key of modernity.
The Italian Design Day is the annual thematic review launched in 2017 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and the Ministry of Economic Development, ADI-Industrial Design Association, ICE-Agency for Foreign Trade, Triennale di Milano, Salone del Mobile di Milano, Federlegno-Arredo.
The Italian Design Day includes a rich schedule of promotional events organized by the network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes, and ICE Offices abroad and has established itself over the years as an effective tool to support the promotion of design and the internationalization of an industrial sector for our exports. Every year, for the occasion, 100 testimonials become narrators of Italian design and creativity in the world.
