The limited-edition collection of lounge chairs manufactured by Zanotta is inspired by the iconic Sacco and commissioned by Bottega Veneta Creative Director, Matthieu Blazy.
Following its exclusive preview at Bottega Veneta’s Summer 25 fashion show, The Ark makes its debut at Design Miami. The groundbreaking collaboration between Italian luxury house Bottega Veneta and renowned design brand Zanotta is on display to the public from 3 to 8 December.
The Ark is inspired by Zanotta’s iconic Sacco chair. Originally conceived in 1968 by Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini, and Franco Teodoro, the Sacco is characterised by its softness, adaptability, and anti-formalism — qualities that also distinguish Bottega Veneta bags. Commissioned by Bottega Veneta Creative Director Matthieu Blazy and meticulously crafted by Zanotta, the Ark reimagines the Sacco in animal-shaped designs. Bridging fashion, art, and design, these whimsical pieces embody a spirit of playfulness, while honouring the enduring appeal and inspiration of Gatti, Paolini, and Teodoro’s iconic chair.
The Ark includes 15 distinct animal designs in various colourways, from a dog and a rabbit to a fox, elephant, and whale. Each piece exemplifies Bottega Veneta’s dedication to innovative craft, paired seamlessly with Zanotta’s commitment to avant-garde design.
A light grey rabbit and a white chicken from The Ark are available exclusively at Design Miami. Visitors are also invited to experience the collection firsthand at Bottega Veneta’s Miami store, where select editions are showcased in a dedicated display for the duration of the fair.
