After the inauguration of the Sino-French Design Weekend on December 18th last, the exhibition "A French vision for Design: from 1920s to Today" was opened and will be on until February 28th at Roche Bobois Space in Shanghai.
The exhibition aims at introducing the Chinese audience to French design culture in a profound and concise way, with an emphasis on French designers who have been designing furniture and products starting from 1920s to today.
The exhibition is divided in 5 areas: pioneers of the first half of the 20 century, creators-dreamers, designers who believed they could change the world, outstanding female designers (among them Costance Guisset); Shanghai-based artists who love and respect Chinese culture.
This event, which hosted some seminars on design, seeks to reflect how modern design developed in France and to deliver the message that design and art are alike in that they can speak regardless of countries and cultures.
The armchair Oliva by Constance Guisset - designed for Zanotta in 2019, is among the products on display.
