The 14th October sees the opening of the 14th edition of the Florence Biennale, in the spaces of the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, one of the largest exhibitions of contemporary art and design in the world.
"I Am You", the title of the 2023 edition, reflects the exhibition's key concepts, namely those of identity, both individual and collective, in their multiple philosophical, psychological, sociological and cultural meanings, emphasising the importance of putting oneself in the shoes of others and evoking, even in the differences that distinguish us, that common feeling that unites people instead of dividing them.
Within this unique setting, ADI Design Museum in collaboration with the Tuscan ADI delegation celebrates the excellence of Italian design with an exhibition dedicated in particular to the winners of the Compasso d'Oro alla Carriera Award for Product Design, such as the iconic Sacco armchair awarded in 2020 as a "typological innovation in the upholstered furniture sector that represents freedom from conventional styles of use". Recognised as one of the symbols of Italian design, the Sacco by Gatti, Paolini and Teodoro is the first universal seat that can be adapted to any type of person, soft, unstructured, non-conformist and contemporary for over fifty years.
