The monographic exhibition dedicated to Riccardo Dalisi, presented on the occasion of the 1st edition of the Porto Design Biennale.
This exhibition reflects on the work of Riccardo Dalisi in the territory of Naples, exploring his cultural and social relations. It is the author's first major retrospective and aims to be a show that brings together objects, drawings, sculptures and other structures through a strong relationship with the city of Naples and its socio-cultural context.
Zanotta attends the event by displaying the Pavone chair designed by Dalisi in 1986 and the Mariposa bench in 1989, contemporary neo-craft products belonging to the Zanotta’s Edizioni collection, which bring together the ancient tradition of “precious” furniture, inspired by Italian artistic craftsmanship and intended to artistically enhance one’s home: furnishing items verging on art and design.
The Pavone chair has a nickel-plated steel structure that draws the silhouette of a peacock; it was produced in numbered and signed series that, although formally identical, diversify for a detail at the artist's discretion.
The Mariposa bench, that looks like a butterfly, has a seat and backrest in steel painted with polychrome additions by the designer. Each series of the Mariposa bench features a different subject of the sculture placed under the seat.
