The Quaderna console-table designed by Superstudio and produced by Zanotta since 1971 will be on display as part of the main contemporary art fair in Italy, which will be held from 1 to 3 November 2019.
A solo exhibition on Superstudio, curated by the Pinksummer
contemporary art gallery, will be presented in the section of Artissima called
“Back to the Future”, that is dedicated to the rediscovery of works by great
pioneers of the contemporary art.
Four photomontages by Superstudio are on display, including
"Monumento Continuo", some original drawings, a histogram and the
work "La Moglie di Lot" (third and final edition) presented at the
Venice Biennale in 1978 then destroyed. It was reproduced in 2014 on original
drawings by Piero Frassinelli, Adolfo Natalini and Cristiano Toraldo di Francia
for the solo exhibition of Superstudio held in Genoa and for the Venice
Biennale curated by Rem Koolhaas of the same year.
Quaderna takes part in the story of the work of Superstudio
testifying the theme of the "Architecture Histograms", experimental
volumes built on the basis of a space lattice with orthogonal grid, endlessly adaptable,
from which a family of unique and timeless furniture was created. Regular
geometric shapes covered with squared white laminate (created on purpose by
Abet Print, designed by Superstudio, and called Misura) and characterized by
strict volumes, simple and perfect.
Currently the Quaderna collection consists of a console
table, a bench, a table and a writing-desk.
